A product like this again confirms to me that the new Microsoft may actually be on to something.
The time has past that the Microsoft was the dominant force in computing. Sure they still are the leaders in personal computers, small servers and business software, but it is only a small player in all other categories like tablets, smartphones, consumer facing software and services, etc.
I like how the new Microsoft has embraced its new positioning and they launch products like this (or software as a service offerings like Office 365) that are cross-platform. They acknowledge that they should play well with the two dominant forces of today’s computing: iOS and Android.
This in fact, does make me more likely to start using its products, software and services. And in the end it may even get me back buying Windows phones or Windows tablets.
Interesting stuff, I think
